Munnar is a hill station on the Western Ghats, a range of mountains situated in the Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. Wayanad District in the north-east of Kerala, India. The region was known as Mayakshetra (Maya's land) in the earliest records. Mayakshetra evolved into Mayanad and finally to Wayanad. The Folk etymology of the word says it is a combination of Vayal (paddy field) and Naad (land), making it 'The Land of Paddy Fields'. There are many indigenous tribals in this area. The Wayanad forests have been inhabited for more than 3,000 years. Historians are of the view that human settlement existed in these parts for at least ten centuries before Christ.

Thekkady:-

Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is an important tourist attraction in the Kerala state of India. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The Wild Life Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. The greatest attraction of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake.

Varkala:-

Varkala (Malayalam) is a coastal town and municipality in Thiruvananthapuram district situated in the Indian state of Kerala. On holiday, if you are not in mood of doing anything, then go to Varkala. Varkala also has 2000 year ancient temple – Janardana Swami temple. This temple is near the papanasam beach (Varkala beach) which is famous for the holy water.
